The Boston Celtics have clinched the 2024 NBA championship, marking the beginning of their quest to defend their title—a feat not achieved since the Golden State Warriors in 2018. The past six NBA seasons have seen six different champions, highlighting the league’s competitiveness and unpredictability.

Despite this history, the Celtics are highly favored by Vegas for the 2025 title. Caesars Sportsbook has set them as the early frontrunners at +300 odds. Here’s a look at the current odds for all 30 NBA teams.

2025 NBA Championship Odds:

  • Boston Celtics: +300
  • Denver Nuggets: +750
  • Minnesota Timberwolves: +900
  • Oklahoma City Thunder: +950
  • Milwaukee Bucks: +950
  • Dallas Mavericks: +950
  • New York Knicks: +1500
  • Philadelphia 76ers: +1800

  • Detroit Pistons: +50000
  • Brooklyn Nets: +50000
  • Washington Wizards: +50000
  • Portland Trail Blazers: +50000

The Celtics’ +300 odds are the strongest for any opening night favorite since the 2021-22 Brooklyn Nets at +240. Despite their favored status, these odds suggest a 75% chance that they may not repeat as champions in 2025.

2025 NBA Championship Odds 2

The Denver Nuggets, last year’s champions, follow at +750, with the Minnesota Timberwolves close behind at +900. The Dallas Mavericks, despite being the Western Conference champions last season, share +950 odds with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

At the bottom of the list, five teams—including the Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, and Portland Trail Blazers—stand at 500-to-1 odds. While their chances are slim, teams like Brooklyn and Utah, with ample draft assets and potential trade ambitions, might surprise.

These odds are subject to change throughout the offseason, as player movements and other developments unfold. NBA offseasons are known for their unpredictability, so betting decisions should be made with the understanding that circumstances can shift drastically before the 2025 championship is decided.
