F1 World Drivers’ Championship Odds
After securing seven world championships and contributing to eight constructors’ championships for Mercedes, Lewis Hamilton has not won a race since the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. His struggles led him to leave Mercedes for Ferrari starting in 2025. However, Mercedes is gaining momentum as the 2024 British Grand Prix approaches. Hamilton and his teammate George Russell have finished fourth or better in the last three grand prix, with Russell winning last week in Austria.
Hamilton, an eight-time British Grand Prix winner, is listed at +1800 (bet $100 to win $1,800) in this week’s F1 odds, while Russell is at +1600. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is the -175 favorite in the 2024 British Grand Prix odds, and McLaren’s Lando Norris is priced at +260. Developed by daily Fantasy pro and SportsLine predictive data engineer Mike McClure, this proprietary Formula 1 prediction model simulates every race 10,000 times, considering factors such as track history and recent results. It has a strong history of success in motorsports, correctly predicting 19 NASCAR winners since the 2021 season, and its projected leaderboards have forecasted winners across multiple racing formats.
The model has been on fire with Formula 1 race picks since 2021. It accurately predicted both of Charles Leclerc’s wins in 2022 and backed Verstappen as its top pick for the 2021 Mexican Grand Prix, where he dominated the field. The model also correctly predicted Verstappen’s victories at the Rolex Emilia Romagna GP, Belgium, the Netherlands, Japan, the United States, Mexico, and Abu Dhabi in 2021. It nailed all 19 of Verstappen’s wins during the 2023 season and all seven of his wins so far in the 2024 season, resulting in significant returns for those who followed its advice.
Now, the model has focused on the 2024 Formula 1 British Grand Prix and released its coveted picks and leaderboard projections. You can head to SportsLine now to see the 2024 British Grand Prix projected leaderboard.
Top 2024 Formula 1 British Grand Prix Predictions
One surprise: The model is fading Oscar Piastri, predicting he will barely crack the top five despite being the third-favorite at +1400. McLaren has seen a significant improvement in recent weeks, with a win and six runner-up finishes since the Chinese Grand Prix, including Piastri’s second-place finish in Austria last week. However, while Norris has been challenging Verstappen for wins, Piastri hasn’t been as competitive despite his two runner-up finishes. Last week in Austria, Piastri would have missed the podium if Norris and Verstappen hadn’t collided late in the race. Piastri finished fourth at the British Grand Prix, and the model predicts he will finish off the podium pace again on Sunday. See more 2024 British Grand Prix picks right here.
How to Make 2024 British Grand Prix Picks
The model is also targeting a driver with odds longer than 30-1 to make a surprising surge up the leaderboard. Backing this driver could result in a big payout. You can find out who this is, and see all of the model’s F1 picks and predictions, at SportsLine.
